| La Bastide The village of "Labastide sur l'Hers". In the mystical land of the Cathars, the village "Labastide sur l'Hers". The "Hers" is a river which comes from the mountains and travels through the village on its way to the Garonne, about 100 km further. It is a fantastic area, "le Pays d'Olmes" as they call it. Famous for Montsegur, Cathar castle, which is the eternal witness of the tragedy and collapse of the Cathars, but also for the beauty and unspoiled nature. Lake Montbel with its 700 hectares of water is close by. It’s difficult to find better.
